Where does the time go? It feels like Kyleigh just started kindergarten, but here we are sending her off into third grade! She is such a big girl now. There are no more tears of leaving Mom and barely a hug goodbye.(I had to ask for one) She just scurried off into her class, hardly looking back. Maybe this is the year that I start to cry when she leaves? As parents you want your children to become independent people, but it does make your heart ache when you realize that they don't need you quite as much anymore. Well at least we have a few more years until middle school!

How is she in 3rd grade already?!? I absolutely know what you mean about the independence/dependence issue. I love that Ellie can do so much on her own now, but I really do miss the times that she wanted nothing more than to sleep on me and snuggle.

You really look like a third grader, Kyleigh! I am so proud that you are in "my" grade now, but next year you'll move on to fourth and I will still be in third. What am I doing wrong????? Enjoy the best grade!
Hold on to your seat.... before you know it she will be grown and in college! (Trust me on this one!)
This is my first September WITHOUT having to think about school in over 20 years, and it's freaky.
